It does not look cheap nor feel cheap. The bench is higher in height than the typical benches, so be aware if little children are going to sit on this piece. It looks nice from a distance. However, once you get up close, you notice all the small defects and scratches in the wood and finish. One of the magnets that holds the door closed was installed in the wrong place by the manufacturer, so we had to fix that ourselves so that the door would stay closed. Although the hinges are aligned well enough to allow the doors to close smoothly, they are not aligned with one another, creating an asymmetrical appearance. I am a short woman, so the bench seems a bit high for my liking, but my husband is satisfied with the height. The color is more of a dark brown/walnut, rather than a true espresso. Even with all of our complaints, we will be keeping this unit because it seems like too much of a hassle to send it back after spending almost 2 hours between the two of us assembling it. Also, it was one of the only benches that was 36" long with a decent amount of storage space. Since we are using it as a shoe rack in our hallway, it should do the trick.

I'm using this storage bench in my entrance way.
It's a very attractive piece of furniture, I like it a lot.I may consider ordering another one.
I'm not sure how to clean the cushion, there are no instructions on the label.
The only problem I had was 1 of the silver finished knob handles was stripped, I cant screw it in the door. oh,and the delivery was super fast and no shipping... that was awesome .

Wish there were adjustable shelves inside. Other than that, it works great and looks great. I keep my shoes inside and it hides them away and keeps my 7-month-old from eating them =)

[...]The directions were the most clear of any furniture I have assembled. Each bag of hardware was labled. The steps were simple and the illustrations were clear. I used my own glue on the dowels since none was included. It made the cabinet very solid.I would have liked an additional shelf in the middle of the cabinet for more shoe storage.
