I was slightly apprehensive about ordering this furniture sight unseen. My daughter has been searching for a storage ottoman that she could use as a coffee table in her living room. My 3 year old granddaughter has many puzzles, books, and boxed games, and very little closet space to store them in. Unfortunately, the entertainment unit in their living room has become a "piling place" for these items. After reading many very favorable reviews for this ottoman, I decided to order it as a Christmas gift for my daughter. I'm so glad I did! The leather is beautiful, and the construction very sturdy. Although the color of the unit is such a dark brown that it appears black, instead of the chocolate color I expected and wanted, it still works well with my daughter's decor. The trays are a beautifully contrasting mahogany or cherry color and even when not in use, they look great simply "hugging" the top of the cushions. The substantial amount of storage space in the ottoman is also a definite plus, and with a toddler in the house, the soft edges and lack of glass on this "coffee table" make it so much safer than traditional ones. All in all, my daughter and I are very happy with this purchase.

          You can lift lid without taking off trays. Piping stands 1/4" tall really quality. Shipped fast received with no damage. hinges seem ok but be careful opening and closing it anyway. I weigh 235lbs held me with no problem when sitting on it felt sturdy. Dark in color but I knew that from the reviews and liked the color. There is NO building required loved that too. Don't forget to take the tacks off the bottom of the legs. Enjoy it its a good buy! Oh yeah and the trays do not clip on they are loose on the lid but you can tell they are made for the unit.
