Got something to hide? The Sheridan Cedar Chest with Hidden Drawer - Oak is your trusted secret-keeper. The gorgeous antiqued brass drawer pulls have a secret of their own: those drawers don't open. Instead, raise the lid using the fingertip-easy spring-loaded, stay-put safety hinges, and breathe in the real cedar scent, thanks to the genuine cedar veneer lining. A convenient, removable jewelry shelf helps keep small items easy to find. Hidden down below is another secret drawer, perfect for keeping personal items out of the way. Handsome antiqued interior hardware complements the traditional, warm oak exterior finish, polished to a satin glow. The back of the chest is fully finished, so you can set it anywhere. Classic bun feet are a charming foundation. To make this cedar chest sturdy and attractive, construction consists of MDF covered by wood veneers. Please take care when assembling. If included cam locks are not properly installed, this cedar chest won't be at its best. A Hayneedle exclusive.

    I've been a buyer for Hayneedle for over 6 years. One of my favorite parts of the job is working closely with our suppliers and creating new looks and styles for exciting new products. The Sheridan Cedar Chest was designed to bring a functional and beautiful cedar chest into your home for a fraction of the cost when compared to other companies or big brand names. We did this mainly by having the item ship in a flat packed box and requiring assembly, thus allowing us to lessen our costs for the product, the packaging, and the shipping of the product. I envision this piece with its round feet in a bedroom with a large turned-post poster bed. It could also coordinate well with Mission furniture with its clean lines and antiqued decorative knobs. I especially love the functionality of this item. The inside has a removable "floating" cedar jewelry tray that allows easy access for items stored here, and the outside bottom apron pulls open to reveal a hidden drawer where valuables can be tucked away in more cedar lining. The beautiful oak finish has a tone and wood grain contrast that will coordinate well with many different oak finishes.
