Description


Precious pillows, sweaters, and blankets unfold with the sweet scent of real cedar from the Cedar Chest Bench with Cushion - Oak. You get lots of storage and a comfortable bench, too, on the thick, soft seat pad. Raise the lid using the fingertip-easy spring-loaded, stay-put safety hinges, and breathe in the real cedar scent, thanks to the genuine cedar lining. The traditional light oak exterior finish is polished to a satin glow, and the back of the chest is fully finished, so you can set it anywhere. Wainscotted sides and a handsomely framed front are symbols of craftsmanship. To make this cedar chest sturdy and attractive, construction consists of MDF covered by wood veneers. Please take care when assembling. If included cam locks are not properly installed, this cedar chest won't be at its best.

    The only problem that I experienced was the actual size. The advertised product states that the item is 22" high. I called a sales rep and was told that the cushion would add another 2".Not so!!! After I assembled the bench it measured 18" and another 2" with the cushion. I specifically needed a 24" height to cover some wiring. I made do with a small cushion. Please, educate your staff when asked a specific question by the consumer...

    Chest is being used for storage. Looks good but the product is of poor quality. It is veneered partical board. The drilled holes don't line up the chest does not fit together properly. The holes drilled are the wrong size for the screws. The screws are wrong for the hinges. Not all of the holes were drilled for the hinges. This is the second product that I have purchased from this company, I will not purchase another.

        The ad lead me to expect a chest made out of oak. In reality it's primarily pressed wood with an overlay. The chest requires assembly. It's not worth what it costs.
